What’s Special About this Piece:
It features 6 beads with 2 layers of stitching - a densely-woven bottom layer supporting a much lighter top layer made of beads stitched into the bottom layer one at a time. While it’s time-consuming, meticulous work, it’s also highly meditative work, which I find good for the soul.
How it tapers from top to bottom in a quietly elegant way. The taper also makes for more comfortable wear.
That it incorporates 5 different kinds of late 20th century Japanese glass and metal beads. Each kind of bead creates a distinct texture or shade of a color. Together, all of these textures and shades create a visually rich and compelling look.
This the last major necklace I will make with these beads…because I now have so few of them left.
How light this necklace is for its size.
I will sign the clasp before shipping.
