Red and Gold Necklace - One of a Kind

1,685.00

Luminous reddish-rose glass beads made by hand in the second half of the 20th century, probably in Boshan, for centuries one of China's greatest glass beadmaking centers - although the last bead-making furnaces there closed a few decades ago.

Strung with three of my 18 karat gold beaded beads and 23 of my small beaded peyote stitch tubes. Each of the tubes is composed of many tiny Japanese metal beads coated with a thin layer of 22-karat gold (or so I was told when I bought them a decade or more ago) and stitched one at a time with yellow thread.

Knotted on a triple strand of yellow silk cord. If ever it needs restringing, we do it at no charge.

Finished with a 14-karat gold lobster clasp.

One of a kind.

Necklace as shown, 18 1/4" long x 3/8" in diameter.

Can be made shorter or somewhat longer. Prices will vary. Please click "Contact" and send me a note.

Also available - matching earrings on 14 karat gold lever backs. Click here to learn more.
