I've done custom work for years. I like giving a client exactly what works best for her...and I always learn a lot in the process.
A recent commission involved deconstructing a pair of earrings that a client had stopped wearing long ago, and transforming them into a brooch.
I harvested the diamonds, reshaped the 18 karat gold elements into leaf-like elements, and fabricated a sterling silver armature designed especially to feature them.
The process is shown (with the client's permission) in the photos below.
The result? A brooch/pendant that fits the client's current aesthetic... and her wardrobe needs.
The client is very pleased...and so I am.
